Dixie I. (Stallons) Ahart, age 92, of Hopedale, Illinois, passed away Sunday, July 31, 2022, at Hopedale Nursing Home in Hopedale.
Born September 24, 1929 in Estill County, Kentucky, she was adopted by the late Clyde and Sarah Stallons. She was married to the late Conley H. Ahart on December 24, 1947. Dixie was a devout Christian and of the Baptist faith. She worked for Caterpillar Tractor Company for 32 years, retiring in 1985. She was devoted to her family and enjoyed many things including gardening, reading, and their pug dogs.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Linda L. (Ahart) Chase.
She is survived by her grandson, Gary David (Becky) Chase; granddaughter, Diana Christine (Daryn) Clyborn; son-in-law, Gary Chase; brothers, Gaylon (Diantha) Stallons of Cadiz and Gary Stallons of Fla.
Graveside services will be held in East End Cemetery at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 9, 2022 with Rev. Richard Sexton officiating. Arrangements are being handled by Goodwin Funeral Home, 138 Main Street in Cadiz, where the family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. until the graveside service hour.
