MARCEL RIEL September 29, 1929 - October 13, 2012 Peacefully, Marcel Romeo Joseph Riel passed away at the age of 83, resident of Tache Nursing Centre. Marcel was predeceased by his son Denis, grandson baby Lloyd, parents Honore and Yvonne, in-law parents Joseph and Emma Lambert, siblings Roland and Hector. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 57 years, Marie (nee Lambert), son Joe (Lianne), daughter Kim Houle, 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and sisters Lorraine Craigie and Claudette Doyle, and numerous brothers and sisters in-law. Marcel, grandnephew of Louis Riel, founder of our province, was born in the home of what is now known as Riel House, National Historic Site in St. Vital on September 29, 1929. Marcel was a gentleman, devout, quiet, easygoing and caring, who was loved by all who knew him. A loyal hardworking employee, with over 30 years with the Hudson Bay Company, Marcel put family and friends first, and led his family on many memorable camping trips throughout Canada, parts of the U.S. and his favorite local campsite in St. Malo. In retirement Marcel and Marie continued their travels with brother-in-law Armand and Marguerite Lambert. Marcel was a doting pepere and grandpa to his adored grand and great-grandchildren. Uncle Marcel also loved his numerous nieces and nephews as much as they loved him. His life-long partnership with his beloved wife Marie was an example for us all. Dad, you were always there for us in good times and in bad. Your goodness will live in our hearts forever.
