WORCESTER Stephen P. Hine, 50, of 8 Washburn St., died Sunday, January 1, 2006, in his home, after being stricken ill.

He left his wife of 31 years, Susan A. (Sullivan) Hine; his daughter, Rachael K. Hine of Westboro; a brother, Kevin J. Hine and his wife Diana of Auburn, two sisters, Frances G. Fallon and Linda A. Hine, both of Worcester; his precious granddaughter, Hannah Cormier; and many nieces and nephews. He also shared a special relationship with his wife's family, especially his brother-in-law and best friend, Richard Sullivan. His brother, John M. Hine, Jr., died in 1986.

Steve was born and raised in Worcester, son of the late John M. and Lorraine T. (Frigo) Hine and graduated from Worcester Boys Trade High School. He was a devoted family man who most enjoyed being a "papa".

CALLING HOURS were held in KELLY FUNERAL HOME, 154 Lincoln St. A FUNERAL MASS was held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 6, in SACRED HEART OF JESUS CHURCH, 600 Cambridge St., followed by burial in St. John's Cemetery. Directions and condolence book was available on line at www.kellyfuneralhome.com

I used to babysit for Steve's wife and her siblings when they were growing up. Susie was always full of fun and a wonderful child. God bless her, Steve and their family and friends. I know he is sadly missed.

His brother-in-law Michael A. Sullivan died on November 20, 2005.
