Entered service, October 1, 1918, Student Army Training Corpe, Brown University, Providence, RI. Discharged December 19, 1918.

Enlisted, February 10, 1925, in Troop A, 51st Machine Fun Squadron (Squadron A), NYNG, at the Madison Avenue Armory, New York City. He was discharged February 9, 1928.

Enlisted, January 23, 1941, in Company F, 51st Regiment (Squadron A), New York Guard, at the Madison Avenue Armory, New York City. He was promoted First Sergeant, March 13, 1942, and appointed a 2nd Lieutenant, May 1, 1942. He was discharge June 15, 1942.

World War 2, he was commissioned in the Amry Air Force and served on the staff of the 8th Bomber Command in England. He continued in the Air Force and served in the pentagon from 1952 till his retirement.
