1912-2007


Mr. Hancock, 95, passed away Sunday, October 28, 2007 at his home under Covenant Hospice Care. Carleton was born July 10, 1912 in Savannah, Georgia to Charles and Blanche Hancock. He worked for railroads for 43 years which included troop train escort during World War II and retired as Sales Representative and Manager of the Frisco Railroad in Pensacola in 1977.
He had been a member of the Transportation Club and several Dance clubs, he also enjoyed golf. He is a 65 plus year Mason, holding duel memberships in Escambia Lodge #15 and East Hill #310, also a member of the Scottish Rite body, Hadji Shriners, Nomads, Pensacola Lions Club, N.A.R.V.R.E. #80, Loafers, First United Methodist Church, Wesley Fellowship Sunday School Class, Silver and Gold.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers ; three sisters; his wife of 49 years, Ann; daughter-in-law, Hazel Hancock; and two great -granddaughters.
Survivors are his wife, Delores "Dee"; one son, Barrie (Cheryl) Hancock; one daughter, Karen Haworth; step-daughter, Terry (Gary) Bordeau; step-son, Barry (Diane) Roose; seven grandchildren, Amy (Bruce) Evans, Lezah (Ian) Yeoh, Christian (Soh leng) Hancock, Jonathan Hancock, Ashley (Randy) Estridge, Kelly (David) Frazier, and Josh Wright; and seven great grandchildren with many friends.
Pallbearers will be Ken Curry, John Bedsole, Tom McKean, Oscar Pittman, John Montgomery and Leonard Crawford.
In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to Covenant Hospice, 2001 N. Palafox Street, Pensacola, Florida 32501.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 P.M. on Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2007 at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel.
Services will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 1, 2007 at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel with Dr. Wesley Wachob of First United Methodist Church officiating.
Interment follows at Bayview Memorial Park, Section 9 with Masonic honors provided.
