Francis L. "Fran" Jirovetz

Manitowoc - Francis L. "Fran" Jirovetz, age 75, of Manitowoc passed away on Wednesday, April 14, 2021 at his home.

Fran was born May 14, 1945 in Manitowoc, son of the late Frank and Grace (Yindra) Jirovetz. He graduated from Denmark High School with the Class of 1963. He was united in marriage to the former Diane Schumacher on August 14, 1981 at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Manitowoc. Fran proudly served his country in the U. S. Army, being stationed first in France and later in Germany.

Fran loved playing baseball and enjoyed pitching. He followed the Milwaukee Braves and later the Milwaukee Brewers and attended games when he could. The family Timber Rattlers game each summer was a highlight of his summer, often more special because his grandsons joined him. He also loved football, especially the Green Bay Packers. Fran also loved country music and the Oshkosh Country Fest, which he attended with Doug for many years.

Fran and Diane were avid travelers of all 50 states and travelled extensively internationally as well. He was employed at Paragon and later at Younkers; he was proud of his work ethic and never missed a day of work.

Survivors include his wife: Diane Jirovetz, Manitowoc; one daughter: Emmy Kasuboski (Tommy Erickson), Oshkosh; four grandsons: Mic, Cort, Aidan, and Colin; his siblings: Sue Schumacher, West Bend; Bonnie (David) Frechette, Green Bay; Wayne (Sharon) Jirovetz, Green Bay; Sally (Vic) Lucas, Marshfield; Patsy Jirovetz, Oshkosh; Bob Jirovetz, Green Bay; Mary Jirovetz, Manitowoc; Wendy (Dana) Johnson, Battle Creek, MI; Lori (Jeff) Van Dalen, Milwaukee; Lynne Jirovetz, Manitowoc; Jackie (John) De Cecco, Crystal Lake, IL; Chris Jirovetz, Appleton; two sisters-in-law: Mary Jirovetz, Oshkosh; Sandy Bartelme, Green Bay; as well as several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends and his dog Lucy. Fran was preceded in death by his parents; one brother: Doug Jirovetz; a niece: Claire De Cecco; and brother-in-law: Bill Bartelme.
