Born on Oct. 21, 1924, in Spiceland, she was the oldest of the four children of the late Horace and Gladys Hagerman Pee.
Juanita retired from Western Electric, where she was an employee for almost 30 years. She was a lifetime member of the VFW and American Legion Auxiliaries. A member of the Red Hat Society, various book clubs, quilting, sewing, and crocheting groups. Avid pen pal and letter writer; took story writing lessons and joined Toast Masters for a season. She was a long-time member of the Spiceland Friends Church and contributed to their bazaars, funeral meals, and the community she loved. That community honored her when they chose her to be grand marshal of the Spiceland Freedom Days parade in 2014.
Juanita was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother who cherished time with her family. Even into her 90s, she would have a house full of kids, grandkids, and great grandkids who traveled to spend time with her on summer vacations. She loved hosting a July 4th family gathering which usually extended into the fun of Freedom Days.
Family members were grateful that before the Lord called her home, we got to spend precious moments with her one last time. She was dearly loved and will live forever in our hearts.
