Anthony Lyle Borger, age 17 of Stratford, died suddenly in a house fire Saturday, August 8, 2009. Anthony would have been a senior at Stratford High School this September. He was a member of the freshman Red Devils football team. He was a great kid who was loved by many adults, teens and children alike. He had an extremely close friendship with Kelly McPadden, Josie Ramos and Joshua Santos and they were together all the time. Anthony is survived by his father, Anthony Jones of Pittsburg, Pa.; and sisters, Ariana and Allanah. His mother, Linda, died in the same fire that took his life. He is also survived by his maternal grandmother, Barbara Borger of Stratford and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins of both his father's and mother's families. He was predeceased by his maternal grandfather, Carl Borger of Stratford and his paternal grandparents, Robert and Sally Jones of Bridgeport. Funeral services for both mother and son will take place Monday, August 24, 2009 at 12 noon in Adzima Funeral Home Inc, 50 Paradise Green Place, Stratford, CT 06614. Friends may call from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. Burial will take place at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Trumbull. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to help with the cost of the funeral services. Donations may be made to the Borger Memorial Fund at the Peoples Bank (located next to the Stratford Fire Department). Any monies remaining will be put in a trust fund for Ariana and Allanah.
