Jack C. DeGennaro, age 77 of Holmes Beach, Fla., died Saturday, April 5, 2008. He was born in Derby to Louis and Lena DeGennaro. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the Riverside Firehouse Department, Oxford and retired from the town of Oxford Municipal Department and also Spirit of 67 Liquor Store.

Jack was predeceased by his parents; brothers, Daniel, Louis Jr., Edward and James (twins) DeGennaro; and his son, Stephen DeGennaro. He moved to Holmes Beach 10 years ago to enjoy the warm weather and his love of working with shells. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Zokas DeGennaro; children, Richard, Jack Jr. and Dana DeGennaro, Daniel Zokas, Lisa Kindly, Wallace Hamell; brothers, William DeGennaro of Westbrook, George DeGennaro of Meriden, Thomas Degennaro of Derby; sisters, Constance Horan of Keene, N.H., Suzanne Foster of Naugatuck; and eight grandchildren.

Family and friends are invited to attend memorial service in Assumption Church, 61 North Cliff Street, Ansonia, Saturday, June 14, 2008 at 9:30 a.m.
