She was the former Marguerite Heidemann born August 19, 1917 in the town of Schleswig, daughter of the late Otto C. & Frieda Horneck Heidemann.
Marg attended Louis Corners Grade School, a 1935 graduate of Kiel High School and then continued her education at Manitowoc Business College.
On January 6, 1940 she married Karl B. Wernecke at Dundalk, Maryland. The couple was married over fifty years before her husband Karl preceded her in death on November 9, 1991.
She had previously worked at Manitowoc Ship Building and then worked for the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture, Manitowoc Co. for many years until her retirement.
Marg was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Kiel and a former member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Louis Corners.
Survivors include her two daughters: Marian "Sue" (Theodore) Zuberbier, Cedar Lake, Joan (Pete) Garrity, Appleton, her beloved seven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren, one sister, Elfrieda (Roland) Thomas, West Bend, one sister-in-law, Evelyn Hansmann, Plymouth, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by two brothers: William Heidemann, Rev. Frederick Heidemann and two sisters: Henrietta Maschmeier & Marian Hansmann.
Burial in Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Louis Corners.

Marriage of Karl/Marguerite Wernecke
M. Heidemann Weds in East
At 2:30 o'clock in the afternoon on Saturday, Jan. 6th, Miss Marguerite Heidemann, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Otto C. Heidemann of near Cedar Lake, exchanged wedding vows with Karl Wernecke, son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Wernecke of Newton. The ceremony was performed at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ray C. Wernecke, brother and sister-in-law of the groom, Morington Road, Dudalk, Maryland, near Baltimore.
Up until the latter part of December, Mrs. Wernecke had been employed in the office of the Manitowoc Shipbuilding Co. during the Christmas week, she left for Dudalk to be married. She is a graduate of Kiel High School with the class of 1935. Mr. Wernecke is employed with the Bethlehem Steel Co. at Sparrow's Point near Baltimore. The young couple is making their home at Dudalk.
