Anita Jean Paden, 78, of Vienna died Thursday, Sept. 8, 2005, at the St. Joseph's Hospital.
She was born Dec. 9, 1926, in Wood County, a daughter of the late William and Mildred (Jackson) Fleming. Mrs. Paden is a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Parkersburg, had retired in 1985, with more than 10 years of service with Pennzoil of Parkersburg; had formerly been employed with Hartman Oil and Gas as a secretary for more than 20 years; enjoyed crocheting, working word search books; and was an avid reader.
She is survived by two daughters, Dawn Deems and husband, "Scott," of Parkersburg and Jennifer Lilly and husband, "Carlee" of Wellington, Fla.; four sons, Kevin Paden, Russell Paden and wife, "Kathy," James Paden and wife, Brenda, all of Parkersburg and Randall Paden of Royal Palm Beach, Fla.; one sister, Frances Tice of Vienna; four grandchildren, Brenna and Wyatt, both of Florida, Kristie of Vienna and James Russell of Parkersburg; three great-grandchildren; and several nephews.
She was preceded in death by husband, Russell Homer Paden Jr.; and one brother, William D. Fleming Jr.
A celebration of life service will be 1 p.m. Monday at the Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth St., Parkersburg, with Pastor Keith Hostutler officiating. Burial will follow in the Parkersburg Memorial Gardens. Family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Saturday and 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
The family has requested that all memorial donations in memory of Mrs. Paden be sent to Housecalls Home Health and Hospice.
