Las Cruces - On Monday November 30, 2020 our beloved father, brother, grandfather, uncle and friend Frank - Panchito - Kiko, age 80, went home to be with our Lord and Savior at Mt View Regional Medical Center. He was born January 29, 1939 to Frank and Josefina Gamboa Abalos. Frank was retired from The City of Las Cruces Gas Services Department. He worked as a Gas Servicemen for the Emergency On Call Services with the city, he retired from the Army National Guard and was also a member of The Catholic Church where he loved to attend Bible Study Classes. Frank was fondly known to family and friends as being a Coach and Mentor in the Softball Community. He was also a huge supporter of all sports that his daughters, grandkids and great grandkids participated in. Frank had a contagious smile, gorgeous green/blue eyes and a humor that was unstoppable and infectious. Frank's generosity and dedication were an inspiration to his family and he took pride in the fact that he had 8 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. His hard work and dedication to his family allowed us to live and experience the best life he could give us. His love was unconditional and encouraging and we will all forever miss and love him.

Those left to mourn his passing include his 3 daughters, Cynthia Herrera (Henry Herrera), Margaret Abalos (James Hilliard), Jennifer Abalos-Rosas (Eric Rosas) all of Las Cruces; one sister Rosalia Abalos of Las Cruces, 2 sisters - in - laws Lupe Abalos of Las Cruces and Joanne Abalos of Phoenix Arizona. Other survivors include 8 grandchildren, Anna Cabañas (Israel Cabañas), Joe Herrera (Sandra Sanchez), Enrique Herrera (Marissa Acosta), Julio Herrera (Gabrielle Dominguez), Izaiah Hilliard, Jacob Rosas, Joshua Rosas, Jeremy Rosas. 15 great grandchildren, Mario Marquez, Samantha Cabañas, Jaylene Cabañas, Israel Cabañas, Santiago Cabañas, Marcos Herrera, EmiLuna Herrera, Emiliano Herrera, Gabriel Herrera, Enrique Herrera, Leticia Herrera, Michael Herrera, Kaylee Dominguez, Josiah Herrera and Julian Herrera all of Las Cruces, New Mexico. Frank also had numerous Nieces, Nephews, great nieces, great nephews, God sons and God daughters, that were dear to his heart and who he loved and cherished as his own Children. Frank was proceeded in death by his parents Frank and Josefina Gamboa Abalos; his wife Alice Cuaron Abalos of 43 years, his older brother Richard Abalos, and his 2 younger brothers Santiago (Chopper/Jimmy) and Pedro/Pete Abalos, 1 sister - in- law Tracy Abalos, 2 nephews Richard/Ricky Abalos and Ralph Abalos.

Services will be held Thursday April 29th at St. Genevieve's Catholic Church

Viewing 10:00 am to 11:00 am

Rosary 11:00 am to 11:30am

Mass 11:30 am to 12:30 am

Burial to immediately follow at St Joseph Catholic Cemetery

Due to COVID 19 restrictions, capacity of attendees will be limited and everyone is asked to please wear a mask. Also due to restrictions there will not be a gathering after the burial.
