Jack Lloyd Mitchell, age 80 of Uriah, passed away Sunday, April 25, 2021 at his home. He was know as Lloyd to many. He was born in Birmingham and had been a resident of Monroe County for the past 20 years. He was a Veteran of the United States Navy where he served for 23 years and retired as a Chief Petty Officer. He and his wife were married Aug. 14, 1959 in Los Angeles Co., California, and were married 61 years. They owned and operated an upholstery business. He also worked with Reynolds Trucking Company as a truck driver for several years. Mr. Mitchell was a member of the NRA and taught classes for 4H Sharp Shooters. He is preceded in death by his parents, Aubrey Mitchell and Daisy McClesky Mitchell and his son, Dennis Lloyd Mitchell.

Survivors include his wife, Madelyn Potter Mitchell of Uriah; his daughters, Donna Marie Mitchell of Birmingham, Dana Ruth Mitchell Wyatt of Andalusia, and Delaina Ann Mitchell of Uriah; one sister, Sandra Pugh of Birmingham; thirteen grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
