Franklin, Wisconsin - Bernice J. Christiansen, age 97, formerly of Manitowoc, passed away on Friday, April 23, 2021 surrounded by family at Brenwood Park Assisted Living, Franklin, WI.

Bernice was born January 25, 1924 in the Town of Newton, daughter of the late John and Olga (Cordula) Carstens. Bernice attended St. John's Ev. Lutheran Grade School and was confirmed May 22, 1938. She remained faithful to her Lord until her death. She was a graduate of Manitowoc Lincoln High School with the Class of 1942. On May 27, 1950 she was united in marriage to Harold Christiansen at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church, Newtonburg, where she was a lifetime member. He preceded her in death on January 19, 2002.

Bernice retired from Lapcor Plastics after 23 years of employment. She enjoyed cooking, baking and entertaining for the many family and friends that frequented their home. Bernice enjoyed playing sheepshead with family and friends.

Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law: Sharon (Paul) Larsen, Muskego, WI; Nancy (Eldon) Schnuelle, Eagle, WI; nine grandchildren: Jenny (Eric) Obermeyer, Sarah (Pastor Andrew) Schwartz, Amy (Pastor Matthew) Holtz, Aaron (Allison) Larsen, Rachel (Brian) Ziedonis, Craig (Sarah) Schnuelle, Brett (Dr. Andrea) Schnuelle, Jason Christiansen and special friend Kirsten McAndrew, Chad (Kate) Christiansen; thirty great grandchildren; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Bernice was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Harold Christiansen and two sons Paul & John Christiansen.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 30, 2021 at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church, Newtonburg. Officiating at the service will be Pastor Andrew Schwartz and Pastor Matthew Holtz. Burial will immediately follow services in the church cemetery.

The family will greet relatives and friends at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church, Newtonburg on Friday, April 30, 2021 from 10:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Everyone is asked to wear a mask during the visitation and service with social distancing whenever possible.

The Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc is assisting the Christiansen family with funeral arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated to the St. John's Ev. Lutheran School, Newtonburg.
