All members of Grant Post No. 9, G. A. R., are requested to assemble at their hall tomorrow (Sunday) at 11 o'clock a.m. for the purpose of attending the funeral of the late A. W. Brush from the 11:50 a.m. train. By order of A. Mi____?

A Veteran Dead
This morning occurred the death of one of the oldest of our war veterans, A. W. Brush, a veteran of the Mexican war, passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs. J. H. Bu____ of Selma. Deceased was the father of our fellow citizen, E. W. Brush, and for many years he was a resident of this society, where he raised the most of his family. In 1849 he came to California, locating in San Joaquin county. Later he came to Stanislaus county and lived here until a few years ago, when he went to the home of his daughter at Selma. For four years he has been bedridden and the cause of death was general debility. He was aged 79 years, 2 months and 15 days. Those who survive him are E. W. Brush, of near Modesto, Charles E. Brush, of Montana, and Mrs. M. Amsbaugh, of La Grange, and Mrs. Bu___ , of Selma. He was well known and highly respected.
The funeral will take place from the 11:50 train from the south tomorrow and the interment will be in the Modesto cemetery.
