Born in Briatown, Oklahoma on Feb. 19th, 1919 to William and Lillie (King) Goodin, Lucille was reared and educated in California and returned to Oklahoma, as a teenager. On June 2nd, 1937, Lucille and George Andrew Dennis married in a ceremony in Nowata. Their union was blessed with two daughters.
George's work in the oil fields took the family to California and Lucille and the girls stayed there while he served in the military. In 1950 they returned to Oklahoma and settled in Claremore where, in addition to caring for her family and home, Lucille was active in her church community. Both Bible school and mission work were close to her heart and she was generous with her time and means in support of those causes.
A supreme homemaker, Lucille enjoyed the tasks that made her home so warm and welcome. She sewed for her children and grandchildren, gardened, cooked and canned and made it all look effortless. She loved visits from family and friends and made holiday get-togethers special occasions.
Those who survive Lucille and carry treasured memories of mother, grandmother and friend include her daughters, Katherine Rader and her husband, Dan and Willa Mae Elliot, all of Claremore; grandchildren, Sherry Means of Coffeyville, Denise Patterson of Coweta, Steve Rader of Claremore, Lisa Wright of Clinton, and Dennis Mosley of Catoosa; great grandchildren, Corey and Alyson Means, Evie Glee and Myles Rader, and Chris Hughes; and her much-anticipated great, great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, George, her brother George Goodin and her sisters, Imogene Cryder and Rosie Evelyn Goodin.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Lucille's name may be made to SBC Learning Center, Antivas, Philippines c/o North Park Trinity Church, 2999 N. Sioux Ave., Claremore, OK 74017.
