Columbia, Illinois - James Steven Beggs, 70, of Columbia, IL. born November 10, 1950 in St. Louis, MO, passed away on Tuesday, April 27, 2021, at Greenpark Senior Living Center in St. Louis, MO.
Steve retired from Cerro Copper & Brass in Sauget, IL and was a member of the Steel workers local 392 in East St. Louis, IL. Steve loved Harley Davidson's and was an avid fisherman.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Edith, nee Parris, Beggs and a sister, Shirley Ann Beggs.
Surviving are his loving wife of 47 years, Murline Fay Beggs, nee Tippy; his children Joseph Huffman of Columbia, IL, Kevin (Christine) Huffman of California, MO, Stephanie (Seth) Hubbard of Columbia, IL; two sisters, Kathleen (Carle) McGowan of Washington, MO, and Margie (Dr. James) Johnson of Pennsylvania; a brother, Marvin (Laura) Meyers of Pennsylvania; eight grandchildren, Amanda, Kayla (David), Tyler, Megan, Emily, Hailey and Hayden and six great grandchildren, Everett, Eli, Olivia, Sammy, Grayson and Thiago. Steve was also a dear uncle, cousin and friend to many.
Visitation will be on Saturday, May 1, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Braun Family Funeral Home 265 Quarry Rd Columbia, IL. Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. with Pastor Roger Reid officiating. Private cremation to follow.
