Randy R. Cherney, age 64, a Manitowoc resident, passed away Tuesday evening, April 27, 2021 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

He was born April 4, 1957 in Manitowoc, son of the late Joseph W. and Marguerite "Maggie" (Elfner) Cherney. Randy attended Lincoln High School, graduating with the class of 1976. On November 19, 1983, he married Cathy Sielski at St. Mary Catholic Church, Manitowoc. After high school, Randy held various jobs prior to his employment at Cher-Make Sausage, where he enjoyed a successful 41 year career as a salesman who took great pride in building relationships with his customers. Randy loved life and enjoyed Monday night pool league shooting for the Linebacker for 40+ years. Randy and Cathy shared a variety of interests and hobbies together. They spent time vacationing at various race tracks including NHRA at Nationals at Indianapolis, Indiana, NASCAR races at Charlotte Motor Speedway in North Carolina, Texas Motor Speedway and Bristol International Raceway in Tennessee, as well as WIR races at 141 Speedway and Slinger. Randy's interest in racing didn't end there. He along with friends built a slot car track in his basement starting a Saturday night league of their own. Randy also loved music, particularly the Blues. They attended various concerts including: B.B. King, Bryan Lee, The Jimmy's, Dave Mason, Joe Bonamassa, Ruthie Foster, John Mellencamp, Paul McCartney, Lionel Ritchie, with the highlight being Tina Turner. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing whenever possible. He loved spending time with his family and friends at his cabin on Clark Lake in Door County. Randy dedicated his life to his son, Matthew, his "little buck-o-dude." He enjoyed taking Matt to Gamblers Hockey Games, concerts, horseback riding, pontoon boating on Clark Lake, and anywhere he knew Matt would be happy.
