Ira E. Patterson Dies At Blaine

Ira Ernest Patterson, 59, died with a heart attack at his home in Blaine yesterday morning at six o'clock. Mr. Patterson was a prominent planter and was well known throughout the Delta. He was a member of the Methodist Church. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Myrtle Patterson; two sons, Dalton and Leighton, both of Sunflower; five brothers, J. L. Patterson of Ruleville; W. F. Patterson of Jackson ; J. D. Patterson and Jesse Patterson of Kilmichael and W. E. Patterson of Winona; and one sister, Mrs. C. A. Townsend of Winona.

Following a brief service at the family home at Blaine at nine o'clock this morning, funeral services were held at the Bethlehem church near Winona at eleven o'clock and interment was made in the Bethlehem cemetery.

At the funeral services the following friends served as pall bearers: Active M. W. Mosby, John Hubbard, B. E. Kelly, Eugene Fisackerly, E. L. Coleman, Joe Edwards. Honorary Dell Neal, Beal Edwards, Ben Anderson, Lindsey Bennett, M. M. Fisackerly, A. W. Blount, Noel Pittman, J. S. Parker, C. K. Holland, John Taylor, A. P. Haynes.

Williams Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
