Adams, 52, died at his residence on Monday.
The Harlingen native was a teacher at Harlingen High School for 21 years. He also taught at Edcouch-Elsa High School for seven years.
Adams graduated from Harlingen High School in 1965 and from Texas Tech University in 1970 with a bachelor of arts degree. He received his masters degree from Pan American University.
He was also a past sponsor of Key Club and Keywanettes.
Survivors include three daughters, Laura Jean Adams of Parker, CO, Cynthia Lynn (Michael) stump of SC, Cristen Lynette Adams of Corpus Christi, son, Nick Adams of San Marcos, brother John Quincy (Pat) Adams, Jr., of San Antonio, and a sister, Patricia (Allan) Adams Swasey of Houston.
Visitation will be held today at Buck Ashcraft Funeral Home from noon to 9 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m.
Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, with Masonic graveside rites.
