Nora Jean Porter, 80, of Belpre went to be with her Lord Aug. 5, 2007.
She was born Dec. 26, 1926, in Cairo, W.Va., a daughter of the late Brady and Annie Reynolds Bennett. Nora was a loving mother and will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by her eight children, Princess and (Gary) Jenkins of Vienna, Annie and (Doug) Edmen of Parkersburg, Debbie and (Ronnie) Richards of Belpre, Herman C. Porter, Carl Porter, Paul Porter, Brady Porter and Esther Allen, all of Belpre; one sister, Wilda Bennett; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Herman R. Porter; one brother, Denzil Bennett; and three sisters, Elocile Barnes, Anita Allen and Sue Gaston.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Green St., Parkersburg, with the Rev. Melvin Conley officiating. Interment will follow at the Evergreen North Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
