Jeanetta Lee (Sheppard) Anthony, 81 of Andrews, TX, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 4th, 2021.
Graveside services will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 7th, at Vashti Cemetery in Vashti, TX with Rev. Jerry Raines officiating.
Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, May 6th, 2021 at the White Family Funeral Home in Bowie, TX.
Jeanetta was born July 13th, 1939 in Big Spring, TX to DJ Sheppard Sr. and Gladys Lee (Dotson) Sheppard. She graduated from Wichita Falls High School in 1958. As a young woman she worked for Lone Star Gas in Wichita Falls, TX and was a member of the Blue Flame singing trio.
On August 10th, 1962, Jeanetta married Max Anthony in Wichita Falls, and together they raised three children. She was a dedicated coach's wife and loved working at the school in various roles, and will be remembered as an excellent cook. Throughout the years, many children looked up to Jeanetta as a mother figure, due to her kind and caring nature.
As a young woman she was an avid bowler, but later in life, Jeanetta's true passion was her grandchildren. She enjoyed spending time with them and attending their sporting events.
She is preceded in death by her husband, daughter Dana Dear, her parents and siblings DJ Sheppard Jr. and Penny Perez.
Jeanetta is survived by her children Quint Anthony and wife Debbie of Andrews, TX and Cody Anthony and wife Cayleigh of Paradise, TX; grandchildren, Brody Anthony and wife Brooke of Greenwood, TX, Alyssa Dennis and husband Brad of Andrews, Justin Dear of Lubbock, TX, Hunter Anthony of Richardson, TX, Hadleigh Anthony of Lubbock, J'Nae Dear of Lubbock, and Hayden Anthony of Paradise; great-grandchildren Harper Lynn Dennis and Weston Max Anthony; sister Pat Strickland of Midland, TX; son-in-law Marc Dear of Lubbock; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Should friends desire, in lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in honor of Jeanetta to The Idalou Meals on Wheels at P.O. Box 112, Idalou, TX 79329.
