Boise, Idaho - Murray L. Aarestad was born in Bellingham, WA, second son of six children to Mary and Elvin Aarestad. Drafted into the army in 1951, he served as a Corpsman Medic in a hospital in Sapporo, Hokkaido, Japan. After honorable discharge, he worked for over 50 years at Morrison-Knudsen as a Civil Engineer, estimating projects across the United States and around the world.
In 1955 he married Shirley Eisler and together they had four children: Monty, Troy, Bradley, and Sonja. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Later years he excelled at pencil portrait drawing and solving sudoku puzzles. Murray was known for his helpfulness, quick smile, and intriguing stories. He read his Bible faithfully each morning.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley, of 65 years, their children, and grandchildren.
