Margaret Groom, Daughter of William and Susan Groom was born in Columbus, Nov. 13th, 1854, and departed this life at her home Nov. 16th, 1926, after a long illness. She was of a family of eight children. Early in the seventies the family moved to the vicinity of Camp Point. She was united in marriage to T[udor] L[ynch] Oliver Sept. 5th, 1876. Two children were born to this union, Mrs. P.B. [Gertrude] Garrett, of Camp Point and Harry of Shreveport, La. She united with the Christian church at Pleasant View in 1873, later moving her membership to Camp Point, where she was a faithful worker in all church and sunday school activities. She was amember of the Missionary Society. She leaves to mourn her departure, her husband, T.L. Oliver and the two children Mrs. P.B. Garrett and Harry Oliver, three grand children, two brothers William H. Groom and Joshua Groom, Washington, Kan., two sisters Mrs. Lucy K. Boyle, of Chicago, and Mrs. Frank Rothgeb of Quincy. The funeral services were held at the home Thursday afternoon and were conducted by Elder R.A. Omer. Mrs. Charles Reed and Mrs. O.H. Hunsaker sang. The interment took place in the Evergreen cemetery.
