Wright Allen, 52, a local architect, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2005, in Fort Worth.

Funeral: 2 p.m. Friday at Thompson's Harveson & Cole Funeral Home. Burial: Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation: The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Memorials: In lieu of flowers, Wright's memory may be honored with a donation to the Boy Scouts of America, Longhorn Coucil, 4917 Briarhaven Rd., Fort Worth 76109; or a charity of the donor's choice.

Wright was born May 13, 1953, in Asheville, N.C., to Walter S. and Mary Margaret Allen. In 1961, the family moved to Fort Worth, and Wright soon became a Texan by choice. He graduated from Southwest High School in 1971, and from Texas Tech University in 1980, with a bachelor of architecture degree. He took nine years to complete his five-year degree at Texas Tech, because he always worked while in college, mainly for Honeywell Inc. at the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center.

In 1980, Wright returned to his beloved Fort Worth and began his career as an architect. He worked for Geren Associates/CRSS in Fort Worth and for VLK Architects in Arlington. He served as project architect or director of architecture for numerous schools and government buildings in the area. He especially enjoyed a long-standing relationship with the Crowley ISD and was involved with new construction or renovation projects on almost every CISD campus.

Wright was a member of Westcliff United Methodist Church. He was fiercely devoted to his family and friends. He loved camping, fishing and canoeing.

Wright was preceded in death by his parents; nephew, Joseph Esfahani; cousin, Bill Campbell; and uncle, E. R. Campbell.

Survivors: sons, West Allen and Reeve Allen, and their mother, Susan Allen of Fort Worth; sister, Mary Kay Esfahani and her husband, Morris of Plano; brother, Grady Allen and his wife, Ann of Greensboro, N.C.; nephew, Michael Esfahani and his wife, Matilde of Frisco; niece, Maryam Esfahani of Dallas; aunt, Neta Campbell of Florence, South Carolina; cousin, Betsy Fuleihan and her husband, Mark of Florence, S.C.; special friends, Bill and Mary Gillilan and their children, Sarah, Teresa and Paul of Fort Worth and Wayne and Wanda Tindle and their daughter, Dala of Cary, N.C.
