OBITUARIES

Adelphia Ann (LLOYD) ANKRUM, who was nearing her eighty-third birthday, was taken by death at her Mount Alto home on Wednesday of last week. Her condition had been serious for some time, friends of the family said, and death had been expected. The funeral services were held Friday at the Cottageville United Brethren Church with Rev. Roy DAVIS, the pastor, in charge, and burial followed in the Blaine Memorial Cemetery at Cottageville. She was the widow of the late Madison ANKRUM.

Adelphia Ann (LLOYD) ANKRUM was born August 27, 1860, and departed this life on July 28, 1943, aged 82 years, 11 months and one day. She was united in marriage on May 20, 1878, to William Madison ANKRUM, who died June 12, 1931. To this union eleven children were born, five boys, namely; Bert, Clyde and Roy ANKRUM of near Cottageville; Glen of Dunbar; and Harley of Alexandria, Indiana; six girls, Mrs. Stella DURST, Mrs. Edna SAYRE, Mrs. Ella DURST and Mrs. Hallie SHINN of near Cottageville, and Mrs. Ethel EDWARDS of Mathews, Indiana. One daughter died in infancy.
She leaves one brother, Homer LLOYD of Canton, Ohio; one sister, Mrs. Jane GARLOCK of Kansas, 28 grandchildren and 38 great grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted at the Cottageville U. B. Church on Friday, July 30, at 2 p.m. by Rev. Roy DAVIS, pastor, assisted by by Rev. H. Eldon WALTZ, pastor of the Mt. Alto Church. Interment was in the Blaine Memorial Cemetery with J. B. Vail Mortuary in charge.
