Funeral services were held Oct 8 in Parkersburg, IL., for Mrs. Anna E. Roby mother of Mrs. Lee Ackert, Dixon. The Rev. H. H. Williams of the Christian Church officiated. Burial was in Macedonia Cemetery, assisting with the flowers 14 nieces of Mrs. Roby.
She died Oct 6 at her home near Parkersburg. Mrs. Roby was the former Anna Etta Marks, daughter of Martin and Eliza Jane Shelby Marks and was born in Edwards Co. Mar 3, 1879. She married to Vernon S. Roby Dec 18, 1901. She first joined Shilo Christian Church in Edwards County than moved her membership to the Parkersburg Church.
She is survived by her husband, two daughters, Mrs. Ackert and Mrs. Erma Anna Gertesh, Olney; 2 sisters. Mrs. Effie Redens, Bone Gap and Mrs. Lauria Fritchley, Parkersburg; 3 brothers, Newton, W. Salem, Dana, Assumption and Joe, Olney; 2 son-in-laws and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, 4 sisters. Mrs. Isabel Barnes, Mrs. Mary L. Deischer, Mrs. Eliza Byford and Clara who died in Childhood, 2 brothers, George and Frederich and a grandson, John Vernon Gertsch
