"... The Captain of a militia company, he suffered an accidental gunshot wound while drilling his company at Palmer's River, now within the limits of Rehoboth, Bristol, MA. His death is recorded in Rehoboth VR & in the Vital Record of Rhode Island, 1636-1850, by James N. Arnold, citing the Providence Gazette."

2. Lydia b. 14 Feb 1754, listed in her mother's will as deceased by 1819, Lydia was the wife of Thomas Smith and mother of Mary's granddaughter Lydia Smith.
3. Molly b. 28 Dec 1756, listed in her mother's will as the wife of Hezekiah Round
4. Shubael b. 19 Sep 1757, deceased 20 Feb 1812. His heir, name not listed, was mentioned in Mary's will. Shubael Wheeler married Chloe Martin and had two daughters listed in his own will: Lavina Martin Wheeler and Candys Wheeler. He was a soldier in the American Revolution.
5. Mary b. 25 Apr 1759, listed as Kilton, widow, in her mother Mary's 1819 will.
6. Rhoda b. 11 Feb 1761, listed as the wife of Edward Kilton in her mother's will. Edward was Mary's executor, and the son of Mary's second husband, Capt John Kilton/Kelton. Edward and Rhoda inherited Capt. John Kilton's Rehoboth land.
7. Philip b. 24 Oct 1762, was mentioned in his mother's will.
8. Eunice b. 22 Aug 1764, was listed as the wife of Asa Nichols in her mother's will.

Philip's widow Mary married Capt John Kelton/Kilton, also a widower, when Philip died. 2 of Philip's and Mary's children, Rhoda Wheeler and I believe Mary/Mercy Wheeler had married Capt John's and his deceased wife Mary's children, Edward Kilton and John Kilton Jr. respectively, so they were in-laws when they married.
