He was born on January 13, 1948 in San Antonio, Texas to Nolan Blackburn and Irene (Haby) Blackburn.
Earl grew up in San Antonio, and after high school he found Austin to be his home. He attended UT Austin and landed a job at UT for 50 plus years as a supervisor. He retired in December of 2019 due to health conditions. Earl had a great passion for reading books and working on computers. Earl loved his job and worked as much as he could.
Earl was preceded in death by his (biological father) Nolan Blackburn, (mother) Irene (Haby) Blackburn, (stepfather) Joe W. Blackburn, (sister) Ruth Lynette Blackburn.
He is survived by his brothers, Milton Blackburn (Jeanette), Lester Blackburn (Liz) and sister Jonetta Doan, and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
