He was a veteran of the United State Marine Corps.∼Acie Ray Montgomery, 82, of Vandergrift, passed away Tuesday, May 18, 2021, in his residence surrounded by his family.
Born Dec. 8, 1938, in Ararat, Va., he is the son of the late Hie and Sally Barnard Montgomery.
A veteran of the USMC, he had been employed by National Materials, Arnold, and had also owned and operated Montgomery Service Station, Allegheny Township. Acie had been a past member of the George G. McMurtry Fire Department, Vandergrift. He had been an avid pet lover throughout his life. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and friends at his special place, the Hancock Inn.
Survivors include two sons, Ray (Michelle) Montgomery and Jay (Cathy) Montgomery; a daughter, Kay (Jack) McKrisky; eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Maxine King and Ruby Mankins; and two brothers, Franklin and Barnard Montgomery.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Carol Montgomery, in 2009; four brothers, Folger, Floyd, Winfred and Roosevelt Montgomery; one sister, Dorothy Noah.
Burial will be in Spring Church Cemetery.
