He was the son of William & second wife Susan [Kerr] Faver & grandson of John Faver, Revolutionary War soldier who fought in the Battle of Kettle Creek, Wilkes Co., GA. I have gained DAR approval of my direct descent from him and of his Revolutionary service as a patriot.

After his wife's death about 1852, probably in St. Clair Co., AL, and after or during the settlement of his father's estate, William and his older children along with his mother and unmarried sisters moved to Guadalupe Co., TX. His youngest child moved with her Willis grandparents to San Saba Co., TX.
William married a widow Mary Ann [Oliver] Weems on 3 Dec. 1855, in Williamson Co., TX.

"San Saba News
W. N. Faver, an old and highly respected citizen, died Tuesday afternoon the 8th, at his home at Harmony after being sick with la grippe about three weeks. Mr. Faver was born in Georgia Aug. 2, 1818 [sic], and had for many years been a resident of this state. He had been a resident of San Saba County since 1872. The remains were buried at the Harmony Cemetery Wednesday. Among his children present at the death-bed were John Faver, of Holt, Mrs. C. C. Kirkpatrick [sic], of Brownwood, P. M. Faver, of San Saba."
