Eliza Robinson, was the matriarch of most of the family gatherings. She was the wife of Thomas J Robinson. He died in 1919. She lived into her late nineties and every birthday was a call for celebration. At the time of her death in 1953, she had 27 grandchildren, 49 great-grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren.
From all these "Gatherings", as they were called then, came to be known as the Jones/Robinson reunion, that is still celebrated to this day, some 70 years later.
