Fort Bend Herald, May 27, 2021:

Orville Luke LeBlanc was born on January 14, 1937 to Tony and Tennie LeBlanc in Orangefield, Texas. He passed away on May 21, 2021. Orville LeBlanc was a veteran, rancher, pecan farmer, and a true cowboy.

His family moved to Richmond when he was eight years old. He attended Lamar Consolidated High School, where he was President of his FFA chapter. This is where his love of caring for livestock and showing cattle and horses began. Orville participated in the local rodeos where he was a bull rider.

After high school, he joined the military where he proudly served his country in the Army for four years with time spent overseas in Germany. On November 11, 1960, he married Betty Shields.

Orville LeBlanc was the foreman of the R.E. Smith Ranch for many years. He then owned and operated LeBlanc's Pecan and Feed Company along with his sweet wife, Betty, for over 30 years.

Orville LeBlanc is preceded in death by his wife, Betty Shields LeBlanc, and by his daughter, Cheryl LeBlanc.

He is survived by a sister, Jean Miller; brother, Alvin LeBlanc and wife, Georgia; son, Brian LeBlanc; honorary son, Tony Perkins and wife, Virginia; and daughter, Brenda and husband, Andy Gless. His grandchildren and great grandchildren knew Orville as Pawpaw. Grandchildren are Jesse Carter and wife, Megan, Christina and husband, Blake Whitney, Kendall LeBlanc, and Joshua LeBlanc. Great grandchildren are Cameron June, Carter Rose, and Emma Riley Whitney. Several nephews and nieces also survive him.

Orville Luke LeBlanc was a true original cowboy who lived a good life. He will be truly missed by many!
