Peter Henry Toto, 93, died on May 22, 2021 at St. Barnabas Medical Center after a valiant battle with cancer.

Born on Tremont Avenue, East Orange, NJ on December 28th, 1927, son of Henry N. Toto and Margaret Toto (nee DiGregorio). He worked during the war in defense related manufacturing. A WWII veteran, he served in the Army of Occupation in Italy, running a motor pool of P.O.W.'s. After the war, he married Lena Quarnaccio in 1950.
He had many occupations; an orderly at the V.A. Hospital in East Orange, NJ, the first grocery delivery business for two of the first Shoprites in Orange and West Orange, NJ, and then a T.V. and Radio repair business that he closed in 2007 when he was 79 years old. In his spare time, he was an avid Civil War buff and had a love of trolleys from his youth. He was a former Post Commander of American Legion Post 190 in Orange, NJ. Every Memorial Day, he would go to Rosedale Cemetery and place American flags in honor of the fallen until he was 91 years old.

Pre-deceased by his wife of 53 years, Lena Toto.

Surviving is his son, Peter Toto and his wife Carol; his daughter, Jeanette Eriksen and her husband Kenny; grandchildren, Peter A. Toto and his wife Dianna, Kelley Ann Toto, and Jonathan DiGiovanni and his wife Lauren; 3 precious great-granddaughters, Gabriella Rose Toto, Riley Ann Toto, and Eve Lena DiGiovanni.

Relatives and friends are invited for visitation on Friday, May 28, 2021 from 4:00 pm through 7:00 pm in the Shook-Farmer Funeral Home, 45 Roseland Avenue, Roseland, NJ 07068, shookfarmer.com. A Funeral Mass will be offered on Saturday, May 29, 2021 at 11:15 am at St. Rose of Lima Church with interment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover, NJ.
