Pat had been the daughter of the late Hugh K. and Bessie E. (Marsh) Nicolls who were born about 1889 and lived in Kalamazoo MI. She was the wife of veteran, Charles Fredrick Van Woert, who she married on 8/4/1941. They had been married for 62 years before he passed away in 2004. She then lived as a widow for another 9 1/2 years, free to do whatever she pleased, as long as she had the health to do it. After raising her children, she and her husband enjoyed taking many wonderful trips together and spending time with family. Pat & Charlie were homeowners at 8834 E. D Ave. in Richland, MI for several years. She was survived by her 3 children: Marilyn Ann Sossoman (Harvey) of MI, Linda Sue Greer of Kalamazoo, MI, and Steven Bishop VanWoert of Albuquerque, NM. She was also survived by her precious grandchildren: Scott & Jeff from Marilyn; Jennifer & Meghan from Linda, and Cassidy & Nick (step-grandson) from Steve. She was predeceased by her parents and granddaughter, Lisa Kay Doremus (1971-2011). Pat kept her home clean and tidy and well decorated. Those matching red chairs really set off the room. She battled bone cancer before she passed away at a nursing home in Kalamazoo. She and her husband, were both cremated. She was 92 years old. May she rest in peace.
