She attended college in Louisville, KY and was employed by St. Vincent Hospital for 20 years. She leaves to cherish her memory: husband, James Bateman; children, James Bateman Jr. and Aisha (Jason) Hewlett; foster sisters, Yolanda (Walter) Neal and Tonja Naper; foster brother, William Baxter; 12 brothers and sisters, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at Noon Saturday, September 15 at 25th Street Baptist Church, with calling from 10 a.m. until time of services. Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery.
