Byron Howard Higginbotham, Jr., 38 of Mannington, passed away on Tuesday, May 25, 2021 in Clarksburg. He was born September 13, 1982, a son of Debbie Helmick of Mannington and the late Byron Howard Higginbotham, Sr.

Byron worked for Atlas Railroad, on oil rigs, and IN construction. He loved hunting, fishing, and camping and was loved by all who knew him. He enjoyed being with people and served as a mentor in Celebrate Recovery in the Clarksburg Mission.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his daughters: Shyann Marie (Justin Crofford) Marks and Madysen Skye Higginbotham, both of Lumberport; a sister: Beverly McKinney and fiancé' Justin Crofford, Idamay; a brother: Jason Higginbotham, Wyatt; stepmother: Karen Higginbotham, Wyatt; stepsister: Amanda "Mandy" Little and her children; beloved nieces and nephew: Acacia Higginbotham, Mannington, Isabella Jones, Idamay, and Alexander Jones, Harrisonburg, VA; the mother of his children: Renay Marks; numerous other cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends; and family friend: Michelle gump and her family of Mannington. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by Lil Byron and all of his grandparents.

Friends may call at the Hutson Funeral Home, 500 E. Main St., Mannington on Sunday from 1-3 p.m. where funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. with Pastor Chad Hutson officiating. Interment will be in the Wyatt Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations will be received at the funeral home for the family. www.hutsonfuneralhomes.com.
