Few clues to the man's identity were found. He was wearing a blue t-shirt and jeans. A khaki rucksack marked with the initials MCA was found in the wheel well of the plane, but it contained little: a bottle of water, a bottle of Fanta soda (purchased in Kenya), some bread, some Kenya money, and a pair of trainers. So Det. Sgt. Paul Graves, of London's special crime unit, flew to Kenya in a fruitless effort to identify the deceased man, who had been determined to be aged about 30 years.
Burial was February 26, 2020, in Lambeth Cemetery. The coffin bore a metal plaque inscribed, "Unknown (Male), Died 30th June 2019, Aged 30." Aside from cemetery workers, an official from the Kenyan embassy was the sole mourner. The grave is unmarked, save for a simple wooden cross and a numeric code.
