ARDITH LUCILLE BAKER, 78, of Salt Rock, W.Va., went to be with the Lord January 11, 2004. Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Wednesday, January 14, 2004, at the Wallace Funeral Home and Chapel, Barboursville, by Rev. David Cardwell. Burial will be in Baylous Cemetery. She was born August 25, 1925, in Cabell County, a daughter of the late Irvin and Luverna Lucas Ross. She was a member of Upper Smith Creek United Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Talmadge Oran "Fat" Baker, two brothers, Ishmael and Harry Ross, son-in-law David Jeffrey, and one great-granddaughter, Deanna Crawford. She is survived by one daughter, Janet Jeffrey; three sisters, Bernice Reeves of Alexandria, Ohio, Esther McKinley, Amesville, Ohio and Phyllis Dean of Athens, Ohio; two brothers, Thurman Ross of Milton and Hallie Ross of Ohio; two grandchildren, Phillip Jeffrey and his wife Misty, of Salt Rock, and Angie Crawford and her husband Terry, of Ona; four great-grandchildren, Brian and Jacob Crawford and Brooke and Bradley Jeffrey. The family would like to thank Hallie, Thurman, Dottie and Deloris for their kindness and care during mom's illness. Friends may call Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville.
