WILMINGTON - Mrs. Addie Mae Merritt Robbins, 72, died Tuesday afternoon in Cape Fear Memorial Hospital.
Born in Sampson County, N.C. May 6, 1909, she was the daughter of the late Adrian and Mary Elizabeth Watters Merritt. Mrs. Robbins was a member of the Salvation Army Church and was a senior citizens volunteer worker.
Surviving are three sons, W.A. Robbins, of Rocky Point, N.C., Robbie E. Robbins and Hubert Lee Robbins both of Wilmington, three daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Robbins DeMello and Mrs. Thomas (Shirley) Chadwick both of Wilmington and Miss Doris Robbins of the home, one brother, Adrian E Merritt, of Turkey, N.C., and one sister, Mrs. Lizzie Mildred Norris, of Garland, N.C., nineteen grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Burke Funeral Home. Major Earl Woodard will officiate and interment will follow in Prospect Cemetery.
The family will receive visitors at the funeral home between the hours of 7 and 9 p.m. Wednesday.
