Nanette G. Burt, of China Spring, passed away Friday, Nov. 9, 2007. Graveside services will be 11 a.m., Monday, Nov. 12, 2007, at China Spring Cemetery with the Rev. Allen Grant officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, Nov. 11, 2007, beginning at 6 p.m. in the Garden Room at Wilkirson Hatch Bailey Funeral Home, Waco.

Nanette was born in China Spring, Texas, to the late Andrew H. "Dinky" and Ollie Corine Garrett. She grew up in China Spring with her brother, Jerry, who she liked to pick at from the top of a tall oak tree. She was a 1954 graduate of Waco High School. Nanette married her high school sweetheart, Allison Burt, on Aug. 24, 1955. They raised their two girls, Arlene and Cindy, to have a passion for knowledge and travel. Nanette lived the life of a committed military wife for 20 years, traveling throughout the U.S., before retiring to the China Spring area. She was employed by Baylor University and worked in the mail room and was a loving homemaker and devoted mother and grandmother.

Nanette is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Henry Allison Burt; daughters, Arlene Zacharias and husband, Edward, of Watt; Cindy Burt Taggart and husband, Greg, of China Spring; grandchildren: Catherine Nivan, JaCie Royal and Ashley Allison Walpole; three great-grandchildren; brother, Jerry Layton Garrett and wife, Bonnie, of China Spring; as well as many other relatives and friends.
