Alan Wigal, 97, of Parkersburg, WV died Thursday June 3, 2021 at his residence. He was born in Parkersburg, WV a son of the late Fred and Enola (Hull) Wigal.

He was a member of Stout Memorial United Methodist Church, where he served on the Administrative Board and was a member of the Upper Room Sunday School Class, the United Methodist Men, and S.U.M.R. organization. He graduated from Parkersburg High School and LeTourneau University. He was a Sergeant in United States Air Force, 328 Airdrome Squadron, 2nd Air Command Group and served in central Burma during World War II. He retired from Marathon LeTourneau Company in Longview, TX after thirty-eight years. Alan was a small, humble, modest man with a heart so large and full of love for the Lord. He rededicated that passion into tireless action upon his wife's passing, building relationships with his family and church. Joy radiated from him to uplift others.

He is survived by his nephew Stephen Boone and nieces Patricia Edwards and Susan Vance (Jim), and thirteen great nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of forty years Kathryn Leach Wigal; and in-laws Virginia and Forrest Leach, and Janet and Joseph Kiddy.

Services will be 1:00 PM Saturday June 12, 2021 at Stout Memorial United Methodist Church with Reverend Cynthia Eakle officiating. Burial will be at Parkersburg Memorial Gardens with military honors by American Legion Post 15. Visitation will be Saturday 11 AM to 1 PM at the church. Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg is assisting the family with arrangements.
