Mary Elizabeth Nation-Covey, 16, of McAlester, died Friday, Feb., 8, 2002, at St.Francis Hospital in Tulsa after a short illness. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the First Assembly of God Church in Hartshorne with the Rev. Lloyd Grubbs officiating. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery in McAlester under the direction of Mills Funeral Home of McAlester. Born Feb. 23, 1985, in Ada, she had lived in McAlester since the age of 4 years. She had completed her sophomore year at McAlester High School as an honor student where she was active in the French Club and FHA. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church. Survivors include her parents, Barbara Nation and Tammy Covey, of the home; a sister, Hannah Nation, of McAlester; a brother, Luke Nation, of Tahlequah; grandmother, Halsey Covey, of Hartshorne and an uncle, Perry Covey, of Hartshorne. She was preceded in death by a grandmother, Roma Jo Fulton on Feb. 8, 1977.
