Visitation for Arlyce (Beckman) Averill, 90, of Morgan, will take place from 9:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 19, 2021 at the Sunset Funeral Home in Wabasso. Interment will take place at the Peace Memorial Gardens (formerly Crestlawn Memorial Gardens) in Redwood Falls.

Arlyce Jeanette (Uhlenhopp) Averill was born on March 2, 1931, to Dick and Martha Uhlenhopp in Germantown Township in Cottonwood County. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Faith. Arlyce went to country school through third grade, then to Windom Area School through eighth grade. She worked out of the home at a café in Downthown Windom from ninth grade until she went to Johnson's Beauty Academy in 1948. Arlyce met the love of her life, Robert (Bob) Beckman and was married on July 26th, 1948, at St. Anne's Catholic Church in Wabasso. She worked as a Cosmetologist for 65 years until retirement. After Robert died in 1979, she later married Charles Averill in 1985 and lived in Tracy. She spent 12 years with a very special friend, Harlen Iverson.

Arlyce's special hobbies were embroidering and spending time at the lake. She also enjoyed playing cards with her Bridge Club which was a very special group of ladies.

Arlyce died on Friday, June 4, 2021, at the Gilmor Manor in Morgan, at the age of 90.

She is survived by her children Bruce (and Virginia) Beckman of Naples, FL, Julie Strand of Wabasso, Sue (and Dale) Rohlik of Wabasso, Debra Beckman of Auburndale, FL; grandchildren Shawn (and Cameron) Beckman, Shannon (and Nels) Goblirsch, Crystal (and Jason) Weber, Jason Beckman, Jesse Lindberg and April Lindberg, Sonja Lindberg, Africa Arrietta, Roy Arrietta, Victor Stubbs Jr., and Chrisma Stubbs. Also survived by 16 great-grandchildren, brother Gene (and Georgia) Uhlenhopp and one sister-in-law Margie Gammelgaard.

She was preceded in death by her husband Robert in 1979, brothers Delmar and Norman Uhlenhopp and sister Loma Senst.
