David R. Hatstat, 81, died Sunday, June 6, 2021, in his home, after an illness.

He is survived by four children: Dennis Hatstat, and his wife, Michelle, of Clinton, David Hatstat, Jr., and his wife, Paula, of Milford, Denise Simoneau, and her husband, Ronald, of Farmington, ME, and Deborah Curran, and her companion, Stephen Daoust, of Leominster; a brother, Willis Hatstat, of Clinton; ten grandchildren: Tiffany, Dennis, Jason, Ronnie, Shawn, Steven, Jessica, Keyra, Camryn, and Aden; seven great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and their families; and his former wife, and mother of his children, Dorothy (Goguen) Hatstat, of Leominster.
He was predeceased by his wife of 17 years, Beatrice B. (Bruno) Hatstat, who died in 2014. Eight siblings, Marguerite "Peg" Mosher, Frederick "Sonny" Hatstat, Russell Hatstat, Margaret "Peg" Chiavaras, Frances "Wink" Jennings, Mary Elizabeth "Betty" Burgwinkle, Helen "Pudge" Schmidt, and Dorice I. "DC" Charon , also predeceased him.

David was born in Clinton, and raised in Berlin, son of Frederick W. and Helen L. (Whitney) Hatstat. He was a graduate of Hudson High School, and was a US Navy Veteran of the Vietnam War. A long-time resident of Hudson, he raised his family there, before returning to the Clinton/Lancaster area many years ago.

A skilled mechanic, he worked for various repair shops over the years, as an automobile and heavy equipment repair man. He later worked for fifteen years, as a custodian at Nashoba Regional High School.

David was an avid hunter, who enjoyed archery and target shooting, and was a former member of the Southborough Rod & Gun Club. In later years, he enjoyed the simple pleasures of a good cup of coffee, while working on his crossword and Sudoku puzzles. Above all else, he treasured time spent in the company of his beloved family, and his K-9 sidekick, "Mickey," the chihuahua.

David's funeral will be held on Thursday, June 10, 2021, with a service at 10:00 a.m. in the McNally & Watson Funeral Home, 304 Church St., Clinton. Burial will follow in Eastwood Cemetery, Lancaster. Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours at the funeral home on Wednesday, June 9, 2021, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the Hatstat family suggests that memorial donations be made to Sterling Animal Shelter, 17 Laurelwood Road, Sterling, MA 01564.
