Jacklyn Paige Ancell, 14, of Hamby was killed in a tragic accident on Tuesday, June 8, 2021 in Sweetwater. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 12, 2021 at the Eula Baptist Church with Pastor Robert Graven officiating under the direction of Bailey Howard Funeral Home of Clyde. Burial will follow in the Hamby Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Jacklyn was born November 20, 2006 in Abilene to Button Ray and Sonya Lynn (Smith) Ancell. She attended Eula High School and was active in basketball and softball. She loved to write poetry and had recently had one of her poems published. Jacklyn was a member of the Eula Baptist Church.

She is survived by her mother, Sonya Ancell and step-father, Justin Warren of Hamby; father, Button Ancell of Ranger; two sisters, Alexis Smith and Destiny Ancell, both of Hamby; uncle, Colton Smith and fiancé Layna Fulton of Temple; grandfather, Jack Ancell of Clyde; aunt, Meagan King and husband Jonathan of Hamby; great uncle (more like a grandfather), PaPa Jimmy King of Hamby; cousins, Kimberley King and Elijah King and numerous other cousins, special friends and family members.

Jacklyn was preceded in death by her great grandparents, Butch and Debbie Smith; grandfather, Tommy Smith; grandmother, Laura Collins and aunt, Deborah Smith.
