The funeral services of the late Mrs. Elias Baker, brief mention of whose death was given in our last issue, were held from the Methodist church in Mineral Ridge at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon, conducted by the Rev. Shannon of Jamaica and attended by a large concourse of sorrowing relatives and friends, burial in the cemetery at Mineral Ridge. Luella Stotts was born in Ohio December 29, 1867 and was in her forty first year at the time of her death. When a child but a few years later removed to Boone county, where she has made her home since. July 21, 1886 she was united in marriage with Elias Baker, who with two children, Stephen R. and Bessie Ruth are left to mourn the untimely death of a loving wife and mother. She is also survived by her parents Mr. and Mrs. I.N. Stotts, three brothers, Herman, Arthur, and Carl Stotts, and three sisters, Mrs. Effie Pollard of Mineral Ridge and Mrs. Dora Merkle and Mrs. Blanche Lyle of Boone. She united with the Methodist church at Mineral Ridge twenty years ago and has been a devoted Christian since. She was a devoted wife and mother and a loyal friend, beloved by all who knew her and the family and relatives have the sincere sympathy of a wide circle of friends in their bereavement.
