Donald was lovingly cared for at home by his family as he battled colon cancer. He was born on March 21, 1929 in Madison, the son of Harry and Grace (Chute) Nieman. Donald married Yvonne Kessler (Yvonne M. Nieman (nee Kessler) on Jan. 24, 1953 at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Madison. He served his country in the U.S. Army from 1950 to 1957 while in the Korean War and later in the Reserves. Don worked for Cuna Credit Union as an office manager and business consultant. He was the pioneer of payroll deduction for Cuna and also served on the Board of Directors. He was a charter member of St. Dennis Catholic Church. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Yvonne; son, Jeffrey (Gail); two daughters, Debra (Jeffrey) and Lori, all of Madison; four granddaughters, Amanda, Jenna, Tracy, and Jayne; grandson, Donald; a brother, Ronald (Nancy) of Fond du Lac; two nieces and a nephew; and special lifelong friends William and Pauline Gratz of Madison; and many other special friends.
