Neal A. Ater, 73, of 224 N. Sugar St., died at 8:40 p.m. Tuesday in Medical Center Hospital after an illness of two months.
Funeral service for the retired Chillicothe Veterans Administration Hospital employee will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Ware Funeral Home. Lewis Captain, minister, will officiate and burial will follow in Brown's Chapel Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Friday.
A native of Clarksburg, he was born Sept. 11, 1905, to Omer and Margaret Speakman Ater.
On Oct. 17, 1935, he was married to the former Harriet Skinner who survives.
Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Marjorie Stephens, Frankfort, and Mrs. Lorraine Brown, Westerville. He was predeceased by two brothers.
