"Miss Effie Ness, 63, of 16959 Anthony Avenue, Hazelcrest, passed away suddenly at Knollwood Foundation, Lake Bluff, Ill. Monday, October 30.
Born in Chicago, Ill. May 3, 1887 she was employed as a teacher of the Chicago Board of Education at the Van Vlissinngen School for many years.
She was the daughter of late Peter and Emma Ness pioneer merchants of the Kensington community and sister of Mrs. Clara Jamie, of California, Charles of Indianapolis, Ind. and Eliot of Cleveland, Ohio and the late Nora Strom.
Funeral services were conducted at the Doty Funeral Home Wednesday, November 1 at 4 p.m. by Mr. Thomas F. Waller, Christian Science Reader, assisted by Victor E. Olson organist. Cremation will be at Oak Woods at the convenience of the family."
